To that end, MUJI’s website is designed and maintained to be accessible and usable to individuals with disabilities.

MUJI U.S.A. LIMITED (“MUJI”) understands that you care about how we collect, use, and share information when you interact with our websites, email, and online services (our “Services”), and we value the trust you place in us. This Privacy Policy explains:

WHAT DO WE COLLECT?

Sharing of Aggregated Data

We may analyze aggregated, de-identified data and share these analyses at our discretion, including with marketing agencies, media agencies and analytics providers. These third parties will not be able to relate this data to identifiable individuals.

Change of Ownership or Corporate Organization

You can learn more about ad serving companies and the options available to limit their collection and use of your information by visiting the websites for the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Initiative. Maintaining your trust in our brand is important to MUJI CANADA Limited (hereinafter "MUJI", “we”, “us” or “our”). This privacy policy is intended to assist you in understanding what information we gather about you, how we use and share that information, and the safeguards we have in place to protect the information. This privacy policy only applies to information we collect when you visit our Canada website www.muji.com/ca (the "Site") or our retail locations in Canada, or otherwise interact with us in Canada.

By visiting our Site or providing us with personal information, you agree that we may collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purposes described in this policy or for other purposes identified at the time of collection.

PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US

MUJI collects personal information from you when you voluntarily provide it, including when you: make a purchase in store or place an order through the Site; register your MUJI product; establish an account or add information to your account such as by setting up a wish list; enter a contest; take a survey; contact us with a comment or question; request a catalog; or sign up to receive emails about our latest products and services.
The personal information that MUJI collects from you directly includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, billing and account information, credit or debit card information, information about the products you like or have purchased and other information that you may choose to provide to us.

In certain circumstances, we may obtain personal information from third parties. The specific information we obtain will depend on the platform and your privacy settings but may include your name and demographic information.

When you visit the Site, our web servers may automatically recognize certain information about the device you use to access our Site, such as its domain name, access provider, IP address, and browser language. HOW WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION

MUJI may share your information with selected third parties who provide services to us, including to process payments, monitor Site activity, serve Site content, help to maintain our customer database, and administer emails, surveys, or contests. Such third parties may have access to, store and process your personal information to provide services on our behalf, which may occur in the United States or in other countries outside of Canada. Our service providers are not authorized to use your information for any purpose other than to provide the contracted services.

We and our service providers may disclose information about you as required by law or in response to binding legal process, such as law enforcement requests (including as required by the laws of the United States or other countries outside of Canada where are service providers are located), and where needed to protect the safety, property, or legal rights of users of the Site, or of MUJI or its affiliates or third parties.

Occasionally we may provide a link to a third party website. If you elect to provide your personal information on that third party website, this information will be subject to that third party website's privacy policy and security practices. MUJI is not responsible or liable for any content presented by or contained on any independent website, including, but not limited to, any advertising claims or marketing practices. MUJI also is not responsible or liable for any privacy or security policies of these third party sites.

SECURITY

Personal information is maintained on our servers or those of our service provider and is accessible by our authorized employees, representatives and agents who require access for the purposes described in this policy. MUJI uses certain physical, technological and procedural security measures to protect the personal information in our custody or control. For example, when you place an order on the Site, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, an encryption tool that provides security while transmitting this information over the Internet. We also use firewall technology, password controls, and other technological and procedural safeguards to protect the personal information in our control. Although we have implemented the above security measures, you should be aware that 100% security is not possible.

MANAGING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may request access to your personal information in our custody or control. You may also request that MUJI correct personal information about you, remove your personal information from its marketing databases, or dispose of your personal information. To make any such requests send an email to info@muji.ca. When contacting us, please be sure to provide us with your exact email address, name, mailing address and/or telephone number(s) in order to be sure we handle your request correctly. We may ask for additional information as necessary to verify your identity. Following a request for removal or disposal of your personal information, some of your personal information may be retained for a period of time; for example, to process a pending transaction you have made through the Site, to follow-up on a request, resolve a dispute, or for similar reasons. Some personal information also may continue to be stored on "back up" files for financial, legal or technical reasons.

If you do not wish to receive marketing emails from MUJI in the future, please email us at info@muji.ca or use the unsubscribe feature found in MUJI marketing emails, to be removed from our email list.
