Experience the cooling comfort of traditional tatami with these slippers, featuring an insole made from undyed rush grass (Igusa), a material commonly used in Japan to craft tatami mats. This natural material is highly breathable and moisture-wicking, keeping your feet dry and comfortable during humid weather or after a bath. A layer of cushioning beneath the grass ensures a soft step, while the upper is lined with pile fabric for a gentle fit. Finished with a durable, easy-to-clean outsole that provides a reliable grip, these slippers offer a refreshing, barefoot-like feel and a light, natural aroma perfect for warm seasons.

Great Summer Slippers

"I love these slippers! I get a new pair every year as summer comes around. They are very firm but great to wear around the house, and the natural igusa reed has a pleasant earthy smell. Over time they do break in so if you are between sizes I recommend going for the smaller size."

Love these Japanese igusa slippers

"We first bought at Muji in Japan, but got home and realized how great they were and regretted not buying a few more pairs. They are comfortable and natural fibers are what we think are so great about these. Feels like you are walking on a Tatami mat. Luckily we could find these at Muji online!! The flip flop style is for the summer, the open toe for the rest of the year"
