Placemat

"Sadly these products absolutely reek of hardwood smoke and chemicals. I’ve tried airing them out for days outside in the sun, but these place mats are absolutely caustic and unable to be used in any sort of a meal setting. They look well done and very beautiful, but the smell is just absolutely unbelievable."

Unsafe product

"This product emits a strong odor. For this reason, I placed a TVOC and HCHO (Formaldehyde) meter next to it. The meter detected unsafe levels of both TVOC and HCHO for all of the 4 placemats I purchased. I attempted washing the product to reduce its smell and a yellow liquid came out of it and the smell intensified. This product is objectively unsafe to use because its emissions of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds are over the levels considered safe."

Smell is horrible

"The smell of the placemats kept getting stronger and stronger I can not use them. I've tried airing them out in direct sun for 3 weeks and spraying them down and they still heavily smell like smoke. I don't know how but the smoke smell was stronger than what it was in the store."

Loving these placemats

"Really enjoying these wicker placemats. I purchased them in the the oval shape for myself and in the rectangular shape for my son, plus I got the square coasters to go with the oval placemats. Enjoying them all. They are a great addition to the table. The rectangular placemats are large enough to fit a dinner plate plus a drink cup or glass, but the oval placemats can only comfortably fit a plate and cutlery."

Smells Too Bad

"The smell of the one I bought was so terrible I had to throw it away. This after airing it outdoors in the sun for a week, using baking soda, then tried spraying with water and vinegar. Nothing would get rid of the smell that permeated the whole room and clings to objects near it. I completely wasted my money and I legitimately am bothered by this. I walked into the Muji store the other day, and I could smell them in there, sorry I didn't notice to begin with."
