These are baked-on chlorine compounds (chlorine), bitterness, and scum components (magnesium, calcium, iron, etc.) contained in tap water. Please mix a little vinegar with cleanser and scrub.

"Love this pot, although there are a couple of photos where the pot has a lid. To be fair, it does not state that it would come with a lid, but it’s not listed as being purchasable separately. I would 100% buy the lid so if Muji USA is reading, please sell the lid in the pictures"
